Additional Information

Letter of Intent

  • All candidates must submit a 200-300 word letter of intent, typed. The letter of intent offers you the opportunity to provide information about your background that may be relevant to the Diagnostic Imaging Technology program, as well as any qualities that make you a good candidate for the program. The Admissions Committee uses this letter to assess your eligibility, ability and readiness to take on the challenges of the Diagnostic Imaging Technology program.
  • Candidates must address all of the following questions in their letters:
    • Why are you interested in applying to the Diagnostic Imaging Technology program?
    • How do your personality traits, talents and interests match with the requirements of this profession?
    • This is a very intense program of study. What characteristics would make you a successful student?
    • What personal experience have you had with the profession such as work experience and/or volunteerism?
    • Expliquez-nous, en français s’il vous plait, qu’est-ce qu’un technologue en imagerie médicale fait comme travail? Qu’elles sont quelques tâches quotidiennes associées avec cette profession?

Interview

  • An interview is required to assess the candidate’s readiness to pursue studies in this program. Only applicants who meet the admission requirements will be interviewed; the interview will be conducted in English and French.
  • Candidates should educate themselves about the profession and be ready to demonstrate that they have the necessary skills, personal qualities, and abilities to excel in the program and as medical imaging technologists.
  • A letter of intent is required as part of the application process.

Other Considerations

  • Immunization:
    • In this program, certain components have immunization requirements. If a student is unable to meet these requirements, their advancement in the program may be impeded, which has the potential to prevent a student from completing their program of study. Students are responsible for ensuring their compliance with these requirements.
    • The Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS) requires that the student’s immunization status be complete, as per the recommendations of the protocole d’immunisation du Québec (PIQ) for stagiaires, in order for the student to enter health care institutions and provide patient care.
    • It is the student’s responsibility to update their vaccinations and submit proof of vaccination in a timely manner. If documents are not written in English or French, an official translation must be provided.
  • Students who do not have a clear criminal record check at the beginning of the clinical component of the Program will not be able to complete the clinical component and will therefore not be able to graduate.
